Our Programmes
Three Programmes,
Each with a Specific Focus
Ratana Group does not offer a general financial literacy course. Each programme addresses one area of financial life in the detail that area deserves.

Our Facilitation Methodology
Each Ratana Group programme follows a structured facilitated reading format. The facilitator introduces the relevant document type — a provident fund factsheet, a will structure, a rental income calculation — and then works through it section by section, explaining what each element means and why it matters.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own documents. Time is set aside in each session for participants to apply what has been covered to their own specific situation. This is the point of the format: not abstract knowledge, but the capacity to read and understand the documents sitting in a drawer at home.
Document-First
Sessions start with actual documents, not slides
Discussion-Based
Questions from the room shape the pace and focus
Small Groups
Maximum 12 participants per session
Materials Included
Printed reference packs taken home
Programme 1
Provident Fund Literacy Programme
A three-session reading programme dedicated to understanding the structure, statements, and choices of Thai provident funds. The facilitator walks participants through fund factsheets, the meaning of asset-class allocations, the historic return patterns of common fund types, and the considerations of changing one's allocation as a working career enters its later phase.
No specific funds are recommended; the goal is comprehension. Each participant leaves with a personal reading of their own current allocation in plain English.
What This Programme Covers
- How to read a Thai provident fund factsheet from first principles
- What asset-class allocations mean in practice and how they affect outcomes over time
- Historic return patterns across common fund types available in Thailand
- The considerations for reviewing or changing an allocation as retirement approaches
- Personal allocation review: each participant's own statement read and discussed
Session Structure
Session 1: Fund structure and how to read a factsheet — terminology, categories, key figures
Session 2: Asset allocations and return patterns — what the numbers have historically meant
Session 3: Reviewing your own statement — individual allocation reading and open discussion
Programme 2
Estate Documents & Family Conversations
A one-day workshop that walks through the documents most adults will encounter when considering an estate plan in Thailand — wills, beneficiary nominations, healthcare proxies, and the considerations particular to households with mixed nationalities or property in more than one country.
The afternoon session shifts to the conversations that often accompany these documents, and how to begin them with family in a way that is open rather than fraught. Includes a printed booklet of templates and discussion prompts.
What This Workshop Covers
- Thai will structure, validity requirements, and common errors
- Beneficiary nominations on provident funds, insurance, and bank accounts
- Healthcare proxy documents and what they allow
- Property held across multiple countries — specific considerations for Thailand
- How to begin estate conversations with family members
- Template booklet: draft documents and conversation prompts
Day Structure
Morning: Document review — wills, nominations, proxies, and cross-border considerations
Afternoon: Family conversations — how to approach them, what to cover, how to continue
Programme 3
A Considered Approach to Property Income
A two-session programme that examines the realities of owning rental property in Thailand at 40+. Topics include the day-to-day responsibilities of a small landlord, vacancy and maintenance considerations, the tax structure, and the time and energy required to manage tenants directly versus through an agent.
The facilitator presents the financial picture honestly, including the considerations that lead some adults to step back from property ownership as they grow older. A reference packet is provided.
What This Programme Covers
- The landlord's actual responsibilities and ongoing time commitments
- Vacancy, maintenance costs, and how they affect return calculations
- Thai rental income tax structure and reporting obligations
- Direct management vs property agent — an honest comparison of costs and outcomes
- When divesting rental property makes financial and personal sense
Session Structure
Session 1: The economics of rental property — actual returns, costs, and tax obligations
Session 2: The time and energy picture — management options and decisions about the future

Programme Standards
Protocols Shared Across All Programmes
Participant Confidentiality
What participants share about their personal documents and financial situation during sessions is not recorded, retained, or referenced outside the room.
Content Currency
Materials are reviewed against current Thai regulations before each delivery. Where the regulatory environment has changed, content is updated accordingly.
No Advisory Boundary Crossed
Facilitators are clear about the distinction between education and advice. When a question calls for a regulated professional, participants are told so directly.
Open Question Format
There is no question considered too basic or too specific. Sessions are built around the actual questions participants bring, not a fixed agenda the facilitator works through regardless.
Invoicing Available
Formal invoices are provided for all programme fees. For participants attending with employer support, a brief programme description is available for HR records on request.
Post-Programme Feedback
Each programme concludes with a written feedback form. Responses are reviewed before the next delivery and used to refine content and format.
